I love it it is one of the warmest coats I have owned. I have used it for hunting season this year and I was very impressed. I purchased this online through a sporting goods store I was so impressed with the way it felt I wanted a camouflage coat for Duck season so I purchased it through the gamehide website. I would recommend that if you are looking for a good coat for comfort and warmth you can’t get much better and the price is right.

Great camo pattern and quite material. Very warm and the fit was exactly to the size I ordered. Shipping was fast and communication was excellent.

The hunter hide, is that like the older nylon type that pricker bushes and burrs just bounce off or is it like the softer stuff that seems to act like velcro for that stuff??

Hunter Hide is a woven fabric so it will not pick up burrs or stickers.

I wear a 2XL shirt and ordered the 2XL coat. Perfect fit with room to layer. The complaints about the ammo pocket not holding larger ammo and a Velcro flap; I keep extra ammo in the plastic holder from the box anyway and I keep anything I would need to access quietly in the front cargo pockets so neither complaint is warranted to me. Apparently people are having issues with the double zipper, I had no issue yet I know how to use one. The rest is based on comparison to the Arctic Shield jacket I was using for hunting. I found the Arctic Shield bulky, heavy and I would get chilled in it sitting up on the mountain. I was looking for a warmer, less bulky and lighter jacket as we backpack hunt. After doing some research I found the Gamehide. It is less bulky, lighter and much warmer. I really like the orange camo. My girlfriend’s son has the same jacket and I can see him very far away in the brush and timber which adds to the safety of this coat. My first outing in this coat I wore only a cotton t shirt underneath, which was not tucked in, to test the warmth. I stood on an exposed ridge, in the wind, temperatures in the thirties for about 20 minutes before I barely felt anything of a chill. With a single under layer and a warm shirt you would be quite toasty on a very cold day. I like the zipper and button up storm flap as well as the hood all contributing to it’s warmth. Also had a walkie talkie headset on with the hood up and it worked great. Less pockets than the Arctic Shield yet enough for hunting items you would carry. Nice hand warmer pockets and roomy cargo pockets. I really like this coat and will continue to be a Gamehide customer.
